Pissing off World,September 2003 John Taylor is one of London's most respected ambassadors of the electro-clash scene as a DJ, Performer with his live performances with the bands Punx Soundcheck and The Droyds and as a Producer. His style, which has evolved through the spectrums of dance music, is diverse, interesting & technically skilled. A magnetic performer, he leaves crowds craving his electro sounds wherever he appears. With his adoption of all things electro-clash he has headlined at some of the genres top nights across the country including Nag Nag Nag, Cock, Drama, Electrogogo and Trash @ The End. His rising profile as the lead electro clash DJ hailing from London has seen John take up a number of equally high-profile residencies in the capital. The infamous Lawrence Mallice (Trade) has (finally) opened his piece de resistance in the shape of the new venue 'The Egg', where John is now a regular. He is also taking up the healm of Steve Strange's (Visage) new night Peacock's, fortnightly in Soho. Also The Cock (Soho, London), the jewel in the Electro crown see's Johns own Punx SoundCheck take residency and John leading the pack. Also this summer John has has ventured to Ibiza headlinning Lashed @ Eden along-side Leeroy Thronhill (The Prodigy), BarM and Base Bar. September saw John back in Europe doing a seven-city tour of Germany with Beauty Case records as part of the prootion for his current release of Frau Doktor 'Glitter Ball Boy ' and his Punx Soundcheck mix. As an active member of The Droyds, John is an also member of Siobhan Fahay's electro band and is also in the process of taking his studio outfit " Punx soundcheck "out as a live act with there first live performance being at The electro clash festival in New York (sept/oct), in conjunction with a Droyds tour around the UK. As a writer and Producer of original tracks and remixes, John Taylor also runs his own record label Icon Series, releasing limited edition 7" coloured vinyl, every three months under the Punx Sound Check title. Each Track combines 80's classics with modern electronic interpretations and contemporary innovations. Staying tru to this ideal, the next Icon Series Release, 'Electro Circus' by the Dirty Monroes, a group he is currently Producing. He is also actively remixing tracks, most recently Visage's 'Fade to Grey' for Universal, Dead or Alive's 'You Spin Me Round' with Princess Julia and Atomizer " Hooked on radiation" for International DJ Gigolo records. Also in the pipeline are remix's for Pet shop Boys, Heaven 17, Mark Moore and Larry Tee (mogul) .
